Here at Tomorrow, we experiment with new formats, taking the time to explore new things and learn from them. Of course, anyone who ventures into new territory is bound to fall flat on their face every now and again, but that’s totally fine too! With our respectful feedback culture, we help each other to grow – both professionally and personally. 

We make it possible for the team to acquire new knowledge and inspiration outside of the company. As well as conferences and training courses, this also includes 40 hours a year to participate in corporate volunteering initiatives of their choice. 

We work in an agile environment that’s conducive to self-organization and autonomy. This world of work brings a whole set of new challenges with it – but sometimes there’s no stopping us when we follow the mindset from our ‘Dare to think big’ value. That’s why we encourage each other to strike the right work-life balance. And when it all gets a bit too much, we turn to our ‘Let’s do this together’ value and support each other. With methods such as role-based working or routines like one-on-one meetings with the management, we create transparency and space for honest communication whenever work feels overwhelming.

And because it’s important to maintain not only a mental balance but also physical wellbeing, we also prioritize exercise and community. We offer our employees a Swapfiets company bicycle subscription, an Urban Sports Club membership and Tomorrow’s Tasty Table – our communal lunch that takes place every three weeks. Here, and at all other company events, we make sure we provide both vegan and vegetarian catering.

In our first attempt to formulate our values, ‘fun’ got the most votes. Today we know that ‘fun’ isn’t a value, but rather a symptom of the personal, respectful and appreciative way we work here at Tomorrow. And this also extends to our lunches, team events and after-work sessions. 

Our favorite place to get together is our office in Hamburg where we have various spaces to cater to different ways of working and different situations: a Community Area, where we meet up, open-plan workspaces with desks and monitors, a Quiet Room where you can retreat for a bit of peace and a Family Room with toys and a desk in case your childcare plans ever fall through, as well as different rooms for meetings and workshops. And when the weather’s good, we also hold meetings or eat lunch in our courtyard.

Although individually we are all different, we all stand for the same vision. At Tomorrow we celebrate people from all walks of life and lifestyles, as well as diversity in all its dimensions. But we’re also aware that there isn’t one ultimate goal – this is a journey that we’re all on together. We are highly motivated and always looking for ways to question and break up old patterns. And to ensure we can all understand each other, our company language is English. To avoid offending anyone, we practice non-violent and inclusive communication.

Our aim is to get as many people as possible on board for our mission. But we can only achieve this by being clear and straight-forward about how we make decisions and what the consequences are. This is why we’ve developed a transparent salary matrix to calculate fair and transparent wages. Once a month, all employees can gain an insight into our current financial situation, as well as the opportunity to get answers to questions that are important to them – live and in person in our all-hands meeting.
